looking dazed and confused and angsty and scared in a bookstore? Why?
Maybe at home but never around books.
HAHAHAH!!!!
But what is that from?
Anyway, I'm obsessed with books, as you know, even if I don't have enough time to read them.
I hope I'll be coming to Monroe soon to continue the tradition. Are you coming to CWSC this summer? I prolly won't be able to go. . . .
uuuumm ok....
I love Keane!
hahaha. It is you. except you're cuter.
did you get my email? I sent it through the xanga thing...:-/
Ah, amazing. I'm trying really hard to come to the ball!
But yeah. I've wanted to see that movie for...a long time. Kate Winslet and all. Except it's rated R, so I'd have to watch it with a close friend and a handy skippy button.
I know that guy ... >_>
I like existentialist meanderings. I find them a great deal more pleasant than gossip or hormonal rants, however much I may love the people who utter them.
Hmmm...interesting thoughts on Equilibrium. As I understand, the Tetragrammaton refers to the four letters of YHWH, the unpronouncable Jewish name for God. I took this idea in the film, with the "Father" heading the Tentragrammton, as the government representing the false Messianic pretentions of the the utopian state, with the "clerics" being the religious enforcers of the state religion. So, we he kills the Father, I didn't take this as some kind of anti-Christian idea. You might say he's actually destroying the Anti-Father. Interesting note, in the final sequence he's wearing white, whereas he's in black the rest of the film. Coincidence? Probably not.
Of course, my one critique might be that emotion for the sake of emotion leads to the philosophy of romanticism and anti-intellectualism. But the leader of the resistance counters this when he says that "uncontrolled, emotion is chaos".
ooo yay thats an awsome movie! Glad to see you appriciate good humor. peace out
Tell us what you and Jim Carrey ( sp? ) have in common?
i saw your comment on rob's site. aqualung is basically amazing. it's pretty rare that i get to say that to someone, so just know your taste in music is appreciated. also... keane? so in my car right now.
Since you were on the Reformed Blog Ring, I thought you might be interested in the amazing Reformed worldview Christian conference my church sponsors. This conference is unique in that it seeks to equip Christians with the tools they need to grow stronger in their Christians faith and apply their faith to every part of their lives.
